Eco-luxury villa resort Borneo Eagle Resort on the pristine island of Pulau Tiga in Sabah is offering an excellent value Staycation package from 28 August on weekends. Nicknamed after the first season filming of the famous Survivor series,  Pulau Tiga is located over two hours away from Kota Kinabalu by land followed by a 30- minute boat ride.

Borneo Eagle Resort is a recent stunning hideaway destination blessed with clear azure waters framing a white sandy beach, as well as magnificent coral reefs in the marine reserve. The surrounding lush virgin jungle conceals natural volcanic mud pools. Rugged trails allow guests to capture the raw beauty of the rainforest. Built upon a holistic philosophy, the resort beckons with its creature comforts: fresh, delectable cuisine, beautifully appointed villas, some with pools and some with built-in spa facilities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Each of the eye-catching 13 one-bedroom oceanfront villas, ranging from 171m² to 287m² sits on spacious grounds and boasts exceptional views of the South China Sea.

Three food & beverage outlets cater to guests. The open-air Eagle’s Nest Restaurant specialises in refined, modern interpretations of western and Asian dishes while The Landing Bar renders tranquil views of Mt Kinabalu in the horizon with cocktails.  Sunbathing guests can also enjoy light meals and refreshments at the Sand Bar around the expansive infinity pool.  The menus feature fresh organic seafood and vegetables from Borneo Eco Fish and Green-O’s in accordance with its holistic farm to plate philosophy.

Besides the three hiking trails leading to the mud pools, guests can choose to kayak, snorkel or dive. The diverse marine life is abundant with Clownfish, Parrot Fish, Angel Fish, Bat Fish, different species of starfish and sea cucumbers, and seahorses dancing around seagrass beds.  The occasional whale shark can be spotted in season.

Covid-19 safety measures are set in place with individual life vests and masks, temperature scanning, wide availability of hand sanitizers, social distancing protocols, resort app in place of printed room collaterals and blackboard menus instead of hard copies. Guests are also given personal aluminium water canisters to refill at water points.  All villas will be completely sanitized after each check-out for three days in addition to frequent sanitization of all facilities and areas.
