Various café in Kota Kinabalu and it still continues to grow every year. The selection of coffee shop with its own unique design of concept never failed to amaze the locals and attract them to discover these cafes. Each café in Sabah offers selection types of coffee, non-coffee drinks and signature of dishes that allows KKian and tourists (too) to explore the different type of cafe each time. With each areas consisting of at least 2 cafes, it gives the local the opportunity to hop from one cafe to another cafe each day! Here are the list of cafes in Kota Kinabalu and surrounding area for you to visit and enjoy a cuppa.

Garage Kafe (Penampang Bypass)

Garage Kate is located at Penampang highway bypass and it is easily found because of their striking design, a combination of hipster and garage concept. It was recently opened mid of 2016. The famous dishes in Garage Kafe will be Chicken chop which cost RM15.90 and variety of overload drinks for the visitor to choose. Besides that, guests are welcome to do a private function such a birthday party or a reunion with a maximum of 30 pax in the air conditioning room. Business hour open from 11am until 11pm and closed every Monday

Chiu’s – The Modern Local (Marketplace 88)

A humble eatery trying to achieve great things. Chiu’s Serve simple comfort food in a comfortable environment. The foods is creatively curated using locally sourced ingredients. Serve good coffee and desserts. Businesss hours is from 10am to 11pm. Closed on Tuesday

The B Side (Lido Plaza)

Located at Lido Plaza ground floor with a sophisticated design that will definitely catch the locals attention to come in. Famous for their coffee and food, B-side continues to expand their menu from time to time without failed. The fresh smell of their coffee brews what makes most coffee drinker to be coming back for more. Apart from serving, coffee classes are conducted at B-side.

Business hour starts at 10am until 11pm every Tuesday until Friday and 9am- 12am every Sat and Sunday. Closed every Monday

Cana Café (Taman Fortuna)

Cana Café is located at Taman Fortuna and it is easily spotted because that is the only café at that area. Besides serving coffee, they offer a different type of healthy juices. The specialties at Cana Café will be their waffle and latte that goes perfectly fine together. In fact, the cupcakes éclair are one of the customer’s favorite options to choose. Business hour open from 8am until 10pm and closed every Sunday.

PurrfectplaceKK Café (Inanam)

Indeed a purrfect place for cat lovers to enjoy their moment petting numerous of cat and enjoy their coffee or non-coffee drinks. RM15 administration fee will be charged for customers who wish to enter the cat playground and play with the cats but, the fee comes with one drink. Besides these adorable cats, they offer various type of coffee such as Mocha, Latte, Cappucino and other more. They food specialties will be the ice cream waffle and it tastes amazing! PurrfectplaceKK is located at Inanam Taipan they open 7 days a weeks from 11am until 10pm.

Pregio coffee (Shell Plaza)

offers Grab and go and cozy corner for coffee at Shell Plaza.

Lumière Coffee Space by Crack (Wisma Manikar)

specialise in Specialty coffee and a wide selection of pastry.

The Coffee Lab (Taman Soon Kiong)

Don’t be deceived by its outer design because of the signboard names Frankie Interior Design, Coffee lab is located there. Of all the café, Coffee Lab interior design will be the most outstanding among all. It’s a mixture of modern with a rustic type of concept. They served all range of food such as western, Asian, dessert and good coffee. But of all the food they served, vanilla mango ice cream will be most customers’ favorite selection. Business hour open from 8.30am until 10.30 and closed every Sunday

October Coffee House (Latitud 6, Peak Vista and Gaya Street)

October Coffee House located at 3 locations which is Peak Vista, Gaya Street and Jalan Signal Hills. October Coffee house popular with their coffee and coffee art. They do serve light dish such as waffle!

The Little Kitchen located at Taman Cantek, Lido open from 6.30am 8am until 5pm and closed every Tuesday

Lintas Area

Café De Vie specializes in crepes with wide range of coffees and open 7 days a week 8am until 5pm 7 days a week 1130am until 9pm

RusticStone Kitchen & Coffee Bar well-known mostly with their coffee and non-coffee drinks. Open 7 days a week 9am- 2.30pm and 5pm – 10pm

Omma’s Oven famous with their fresh pastries and served with coffee. Open 9am – 10pm (close on Friday)

Eatery Cafe located on the 2nd floor above Speedmart 99. Eatery Cafe serves wholesome Eats from Quality Ingredients. Open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 6pm and closed every Monday

Hilltop Area

Haru café serve all-day brunch and nice coffee. Open 7 days a week (Mon – Sat: 8.30am – 11pm and Sun: 10.00am – 11.00pm)

Damai Area

Adelphi and Co. specialize with their western menu and House Blend coffee. Open 7 days a week from 9am until 10pm

Breadboss Bakery café well-known with its fresh pastries and fresh brew coffe. Open 7 days a week (Mon – Fri: 3.30am until 11pm, Sat: 8.30am – 6pm and Sun: 8.30am – 11pm)

The Hyphen – Located on 2nd floor above BP Lab. The Hyphen is a co-working cafe, serving a wide selection of food and drinks.

Jalan Dewan (Kota Kinabalu City area)

Woo! Open 7 days a week from 9.30amuntil 11.30pm

Biru-Biru is a backpacker type of café that attracts not only local but tourist. Served various types of local dishes and coffee. Open 7 days a week from 8am until 11.30pm

Nook café Comfy, chill and relax cafe. Served western, healthy food and dessert. Open 7 days a week (9 am until 11pm)

Gaya Street Area (Kota Kinabalu City area)

CAFE ON FIFTY5 Cafe on Fifty 5 attached to Tong Hing Supermarket. Wide variety of pastries and cakes. They also offer good quality western foods. Their signature dish is the Boneless Hainanese Chicken rice. Open 7 days a week 8am to 10.30pm

Bandaran Berjaya Area

Ampersand Specialty Coffee & Co-workplace – Specialty cafe and workspace at the old area of Kota Kinabalu area. Ampersand offers a cosy and spacious environment for travelers and place for people to meet-up. Open 2pm to 1opm (Tuesday to Friday), 11am to 10pm (Saturday), 10am to 6pm (Sunday). Close on Monday.
